At the tail end...

1cm dilating. Minor contractions. It's an exciting time.

It really negates pretty much the rough weeks I've been having. As time gets closer, I would like to start blogging more. I'm sure when he gets here, I'll try to share many experiences. Pictures won't be an issue.

...I can't wait for you to get here.

Short & Sweet

I haven't been blogging and I apologize to those that read our blog. It's been a pretty rough few weeks (outside of marriage and pregnancy) and I decided to slow down on my internet 'foot print.' Anyways... aside from having an amazing wife, my son made my day a lot better during my lunch break.

As I began to leave to head back to work, he was doing his thing in her belly; being active and all. So I placed my hand where he was kicking and he gave one big kick and then stopped.

He definitely gave his Daddy some dap lol ... touched my heart.

Background check....

Good Saturday Folks!

For the next few entries, I'll explain a few things from what I do for a living and how my wife and I met to why my blog is called 'Man of the 24 hours.' Most of my readers probably already know most of what I'm going to share but for those new to the blog, you'll get a small glimpse to what brought me here to create this reading experience.

I will also be guest blogging for Theafter5lifestyle.com which is a wonderful and tasty blog, for those that want to satisfy that rumble in the tummy! Please, support her project as well! Thanks!

Until Next time though,
Stay blessed.

Little bit of this...

Good afternoon folks!

Lately... well, to be more detailed, in the past month, I've been listening to nothing but smooth jazz. It's really nice to have the soothing sounds first thing in the morning or during the ride home from work. One day, I was strolling down the street of my house after finishing a day of work and I thought about how my Dad would listen to smooth jazz all of the time when I was growing up. He always influenced me to discover the things I enjoy myself but I know for sure he knew that whatever he did, it would motivate me to do the same. I think that's something that we, especially as younger parents, forget sometimes; our demeanor, our mentality, our actions will be reflected by our children. This makes me wonder, what traits of ours will our son pick up?

This morning I had a dream that I was able to see him. It was a short dream but it was pretty interesting. He had my wife's nose but EVERYTHING else was sort of random. My wife has had a few dreams about what he looks like so I wouldn't doubt that God has given her a clearer picture ;) Again, it makes both of us continue to wonder, what traits will our son have that represent us?

In the meantime though, the weeks are rolling by. We're coming up on week 31 on Thursday! I don't know about her but to me, it feels like we're finally coming upon the final stretch. (Of course that's easy for me to say right?)

That makes this Dad (to-be) very happy! Keep praying for us folks!

It's Wednesday already?

I don't know about you guys but this week is flying by for me! It's been an awesome week so far on so many different levels.

Tamara had a contraction today! It wasn't anything major but she felt her belly tighten up as it happened. It's definitely around the time for these things to happen. Things got a little tight for his growing 3 pound body but he soon gave a knock of reassurance soon afterwards. We're trying to speculate if he is head down already but most of his body just seems to be cooped up on the right side of her belly.

He's finally being more responsive to Daddy's voice more often too! Before, I would get NO love from my own son! Now though, he moves around and reacts when I'm around so that's really exciting. We're just looking forward to seeing him and see what features he has. For example, will he have my nose with a clef or her clef chin? Only in due time will we find out!

Won't be too long now...
the way these weeks are just...
Flying by.

Child birthing class

Tamara & I went to our first child birthing class this evening to better prepare us for when the baby arrives. It not only prepares the Mother but it prepares the Dad as well! While she's in labor, I'm going to be her most important supporter during these times. Helping her breathe, keeping her calm and focused is all apart of the game plan. Keeping cool, calm, and collective has always been my specialty so I know that she'll be fine.

When I asked her if she enjoyed the class she replied, 'It was really fun and funny.' It's hard for us to go places and do things without laughing. I wouldn't want to bet on it but I'm definitely going to try and make her laugh a lot throughout the labor. After awhile, she might want to jab me in the eye though so there's a 50/50 chance.

So if that doesn't work, I'll just continue to massage her and tell her she's 'the bomb!'

What size are those shoes?

Just finished talking to my Dad and it always reminds me of the huge shoes that I have to fill when it comes to being a a Father. It goes way beyond just financially providing for him., it continues onto such a depth that needs to be reiterated in today's society (something I'm very open to discuss). Of course, there isn't a manual out there explaining that depth. That would be too easy right? Still, somehow, I feel that he got it right.

I pray that my son & I share a very similar relationship that I have with my Dad.

I can already tell that he loves his Mommy ;)

Finding out.

When my wife & I found out the sex of our child, I can't lie... this was my reaction:

Happy Monday.

7 months & counting...

I want to wish my sister a Happy Birthday! Yes, her birthday is a day after mine. Just a few years apart.

Not only was yesterday my birthday, it also marked the day that my wife is 7 months pregnant with our son. He's so responsive, it's pretty awesome. I wish I could feel what she feels most of the time. I just can't wait til he gets here.

He's part of the reason I started this blog...

Sit tight...

Turned 26 today! I'm pretty sure I'll have a few pictures to share but in the meantime, sit tight!
